About the artist

Hello, my name is Yiannis Michalopoulos, a passionate creator based in Chalandri, Athens, Greece. By day, I work in the banking sector, but my true inspiration lies in blending ancient art, modern technology, and creativity to craft something unique for people everywhere.

Journey from Inspiration to Creation

Living in Greece, surrounded by a rich heritage of archaeology, history, and art, I have always felt a calling to bring people closer to the wonders of the ancient world. Stemming from my fascination with antiquities, I began exploring 3D scanning and printing over a decade ago, seeking ways to make museum-quality replicas more accessible to everyone, despite the hurdles of bureaucracy and traditional channels.

Artifacts Reimagined

Unable to gain official access to Greek museum collections, I pursued independent 3D scanning projects—sometimes with little more than a tablet and depth sensor—always driven by the vision of sharing ancient masterpieces in new, tangible ways. Inspired by the beauty and storytelling of figures like Ammon Zeus, Socrates, and Homer, I use loyalty-free models from Scan The World and adapt them into artisan molds using 3D printing and traditional techniques.

Each of my molds is designed for creativity without limits—ideal for crafting unique soaps, candles, confections, and beyond. Whether displayed, gifted, or used to make something new, my artworks invite you to touch a piece of ancient history and make it your own creation.
